Today’s headline: ‘India is on the Moon’: Success following Russia’s crash landing puts pressure on China

Is India’s space vehicle really on the moon and did live Americans really shuffle through lunar dust with their boots?

Real journalists are obliged to independently verify information they publish. How does one go about confirming this report and others like it?

How for that matter do we know that the Russian Luna-25 mission really crashed into the lunar service? Can the Associated Press confirm that it even escaped the Earth’s gravitational field?

The answer to these questions as to many other questions in the contemporary drama is quite simple. It is in fact one word.

Faith.

The smartest and highest paid talking heads, pundits, elected officials and other assorted “professionals” and “experts” simply believe what they are told from sources deemed “credible” and “authoritative” whether it is NASA, the FBI or in this case, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Did American astronauts really beat the Soviets to the surface of the moon or was it staged with the audiovisual technology in which the U.S. led the world from 1969-1972. Wikipedia tells us the 12 Americans have been on the moon. So it must be true.

At this point, let us just insert that we are fascinated by astronomy, telescopes and space travel. And we hope the Chinese Communist Party does not win the 21st century space race and from those heights proceed to micromanage us anti-communists on Earth to a greater degree that they are already. But we are journalists who are paid to question authority whether we get answers or not.

So back to these people whom we trust to tell us what is going on outside the Earth’s atmosphere. Clearly they are people of Faith. Who would ever have thunk it? Can they verify what they are telling us from primary or even secondary sources? They cannot.

Now ask these people of Faith if they believe the Holy Bible is true and in fact contain Words of Life that can bring not only temporal but eternal happiness.
