COSMIC VIEW

Performance artist Marina Abramovic, who told the NY Times she fears for her life because someone may think she is a “Satanist”, is in great demand. Consider the list of her admirers, as cited in the above article:

__ Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta

An exhibition of her work is currently being held by the Royal Academy of Arts in London. / Video image

__ The Royal Academy of Arts in London

__ German magazine giant Deutsche Welle

__ CNN

__ The Guardian

__ BBC

__ CBS host Serena Altschul

__ 50 articles in the NY Times

__ Microsoft

__ Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky

What’s the attraction?

While her press coverage largely tries to dispel the notion that her art might strike ordinary God-fearing people as evil, it also feeds the notion that she casts a spell on her fans, including major media organizations, that is the polar opposite of Judeo Christianity. As Observer.com explained:

… she’s rarely, if ever, addressed accusations from conspiracy theorists of her loyalty to occult practices, until now. ‘I need to open my heart,’ Abramović told the New York Times in a new interview. ‘I really want to ask these people, “Can you stop with this? Can you stop harassing me? Can’t you see that this is just the art I’ve been doing for 50 years of my life?”

Indeed, Abramović’s art has frequently involved blood, bodies, nudity, pain and tension, but that doesn’t make her a demonic worshipper of dark entities; it just makes her daring! “I am personally afraid that any kind of lunatic with a gun will come and shoot me, because they think I’m a Satanist,” Abramović continued in her Times interview.

Independent media accounts were more forthright. “Marina Abramović previously courted political controversy after WikiLeaks revealed that Tony Podesta, the brother of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman John Podesta, had invited his longtime Washington insider brother to a “Spirit Cooking dinner” at Abramović’s home in 2015,” Breitbart.com reported. It continued:

In 1996, the occult Serbian artist produced a cookbook for spirit cooking, which included “aphrodisiac recipes” such as mixing “fresh breast milk with fresh sperm milk” to be consumed on “earthquake nights”. Meanwhile, another recipe calls for “fresh morning urine”. The recipes were claimed to serve as “evocative instructions for actions or thoughts.”

In response to the controversy surrounding the spirit cooking dinner, Abramović claimed: “It was actually just a normal menu, which I call spirit cooking. There was no blood, no anything else. We just call things funny names, that’s all.”

What kind of “media” organizations would uncritically promote this “art”? What kind of “leaders” would want innocent children to be exposed to Marina Abramovic’s “help”?
