Following is an excerpt from Chapter 4 of ‘What I Saw at the Second Coming: Bloodline of Christ; The Big Story, Part II.‘
In 2024, as the apocalyptic presidential election neared, a major Information World War raged between two forces. On one side loomed the dominant corporate and social media giants, backed by the Democrat Party establishment and a partisan bureaucracy and intelligence community.
And opposing this formidable monolith? Hundreds if not thousands of independent media platforms unique to the United States of America. I choose to call several of them with high professional standards[1] the “American Free Press” to set them apart from purveyors of “Fake News.”
There is no way the outside world can understand the massive and growing populist appeal of Donald Trump without understanding the uniqueness of this constellation of underfunded but spirited news platforms.
The American independent media revolution is unique in the world. Tragically, people in most nations are deprived of news outside official corporate media channels, including CNN and news services dependent on dominant western media news feeds.
The ‘American Free Press’ vs the Media Establishment
What is the difference between celebrity journalists like Watergate’s Robert Woodward and Carl Bernstein and the irreverent American newshounds portrayed for example in The Front Page, the Broadway play about Chicago police reporters[2]?
Both pursued “scoops” or exclusives but differed in their motivations as “independent” journalists.
Woodward and Bernstein, despite their radical and rebellious portrayal in film by Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, played parts in a drama much bigger than themselves. They worked for the Washington Post where they enjoyed the full support of their publisher and editor (Katherine Graham and Ben Bradlee). Their primary source (“Deep Throat”) revealed 11 years after Richard Nixon’s death as former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Associate Director Mark Felt,[3] revised the context of Watergate as part of an elaborate conspiracy to rid the nation of President Richard Nixon.
Subsequent reports revealed that one of the Watergate burglars, Eugenio “Musculito” Martinez, was still active and being paid by the CIA at the time of the arrests on June 17, 1972.[4]

The rebellion against a media establishment viewed as part of the “Deep State” gathered steam over time as some conspiracy theories tracing back to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 began to gain more credibility than the dominant narratives they would incrementally replace.
According to published reports with shadowy sourcing, “Operation Mockingbird” as a large-scale project of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) may have controlled and even subsidized the work of American journalists and news media organizations for propaganda as well as intelligence-gathering purposes.
The New York Times in 1974 published an article by Seymour Hersh about the CIA spying on anti-war activists which led to a congressional inquiry known as the Church Committee. The controversial panel reported that fifty journalists had official, but secret, relationships with the CIA.[5]
Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein himself claimed in a 1977 Rolling Stone magazine article that more than 400 US press members had secretly carried out assignments for the CIA, including New York Times publisher Arthur Hays Sulzberger, columnist and political analyst Stewart Alsop and Time magazine.[6]
News Pioneers Who Led the U.S. Media Revolution
Conservative critics, intellectuals and pundits railed against the liberal media establishment from the Vietnam War era giving rise to organizations such as Accuracy in Media and weekly and monthly commentary and analysis publications such as Commentary, Human Events and National Review.
But such weekly and monthly intellectual critiques and laments did little to address the overwhelming imbalance in relentless daily news coverage and commentary of the political-cultural Left.
Such established the frame of reference for news, academic study, culture, governance and even religion. This media monolith rewrote history and upended reality itself for a nation representing the culmination of Judeo-Christian civilization. And it did so 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Enter an unlikely South Korean and alleged Messiah.
Sun Myung Moon
Before his arrival to the United States, no daily alternatives to the New York Times and the Washington Post existed as authoritative newspapers of record that set the script for television news broadcasts and news menus for the national and international press corps headquartered at the National Press Club building on 14th St. NW in Washington, D.C.
First making the news with the startup of a New York City metropolitan daily newspaper on the last day of 1976, Sun Myung Moon in quick succession also started Free Press International News Service (1978) and The Washington Times (1983) as well as other newspapers in South America and South Korea. ….
